PostField privacy
Updated October 22, 2026
Scope
This policy covers the PostField 0.5.0 extension. Copyright holder: Andrei Ovcharenko. Publisher: Kreout. Contact: mail@krot.name.
Lookup and external services
During automatic or manual lookup, the extension sends the Russian address being processed to your selected provider: Photon / OpenStreetMap, Geoapify or DaData Clean. These services also receive the IP address and request metadata under their own policies. The extension does not automatically switch to another provider.
Keys and settings
Photon needs no key. Geoapify uses your API key; the paid DaData Clean service uses your token and secret. Keys and settings remain in local extension storage, are not exposed to website pages and are used for requests to the selected provider.
Favourites and history
Favourite addresses are saved locally only when you choose to save them. The extension does not keep a history of all entered addresses or send addresses to the publisher. Remove favourites and settings in the extension interface or by uninstalling it.
Accuracy and limitations
A provider may return an incorrect postcode, multiple candidates or no result. Verify the postcode before submitting a form. Manual entry remains available.
Website demo
The demo uses the prepared sample “1 Red Square, Moscow — 109012”. Its button only updates the result shown on the page: no address is sent to a provider. The site uses Yandex Metrica without session replay; visits and clicks are described in the website policy.
